Township
Schools Until 1961, Eichelberger High School served surrounding township schools. Presented here are photos of those schools. We are continuing to explore these school and request any photos or documentation that is available. The picture to the right is a octagonal "eight square" school house. It appeared on the back cover of the 1934 Commencement Program. We are not sure why is was included or if any of these types of structures were used in the Hanover, Pennsylvania area during the 19th century. The two links below provide additional information about these uniquely designed buildings. Wrightstown Township, Pennsylvania History Center, Thompkins County, New York |

The students in the Zumbrum School in the 1946-47 picture and the 1950-51 Glenville High School photo are the same students. The 1950-51 photo pictures the last class to attend that high school. The school was closed at the end of the 1951 school year and students were dispersed to several area high schools. Some of the Glenville students attended Eichelberger High School in the fall of 1952 as sophomores. |
