Philip M. Whisler
Hanover, Pa.
Phil, his wife, Darla, and their Boston Terrier live in Hanover six months of the year and at their house in North Fort Myers, Florida the rest of the year. Phil says, “We are snowbirds.” They met in 1954 in Littlestown. They have two sons, one in Pennsylvania, and one in Florida, and a daughter living in Pennsylvania. They also have four grandchildren. Phil owned and operated Whisler’s Cleaners and he’s now retired. Darla was an RN and she’s semi retired. His hobbies are tennis and golf.
He and Darla have traveled to Florida, Hawaii, South America and to the Caribbean.
Phil thinks the education we got at EHS was about the same as today’s public high schools. Hal Reese was his favorite teacher and Mr. Shafer got his vote for most effective teacher.
He sometimes thinks about the good old days when he liked the music and the slower life style. He does appreciate the advances in medical technology of modern times.
Phil is proud of …
“Coached American Legion Baseball for 11 years and played baseball for York College and for local teams.”
His message to his classmates is …
“I hope you will be able to attend the 50th class reunion. It’s very necessary to keep busy.”
Phil served in the U.S. Navy, and he attended York College. Darla got her RN at Church Home & Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland.
