Jacqueline
(Trite) Becker
Lawton, Oklahoma
Jackie and her husband, Larry, live in Lawton, Oklahoma. They have three children, six grandchildren, and a great granddaughter! They met in Hanover and were married in 1955 in Germany. She is a medical assistant and says, “I’m not ready to retire yet.” Larry retired from the US Army after 26 ˝ years, then worked with computers in data processing for City National Bank in Lawton, and is now retired. Jackie’s hobbies are fishing, coin collecting, die cast cars & trucks, porcelain dolls, and reading.
She feels that the education we got at EHS was better than today’s public high schools. Her favorite teacher was B. Henry Shafer, and she felt that Mrs. Jones was the most effective teacher at EHS.
The things about the 50’s that Jackie liked were the slower pace of life, the lower cost of living, and the feeling of greater safety. She does like computers, air conditioned cars, and power steering of the 2000’s.
She is most proud of, “Raising a loving family.”
Jackie’s message for her classmates is … “Larry and I married in 1955 in Germany. We lived in Mississippi, Texas, Colorado, South Carolina, and Oklahoma. When Larry retired from the military in 1979, we moved to York, Pa., but stayed only two years before we moved back to Lawton, OK. Our oldest daughter, Dawn, lives in Brogue, Pa. with our grandson, Braden. Susan, our middle daughter, lives in Oklahoma City, with her daughter, Audra, and her other daughter, Andrea, lives in Oklahoma City with our great-granddaughter, Peyton. Our youngest daughter, Lori, lives in Lawton with her husband, Cory, and their three children, Kelsey, Jarred, and Justin. Dawn and Lori are nurses, and Susan is an Administrative Assistant in the Air Force Reserves. I work for a family practice here in Lawton. Larry and I are very fortunate to have a loving, happy family. We will try to come east for the Class Reunion, but if we don’t make it, we will be there in spirit.”
Jackie took courses in medical technology, and Larry has a BS in computers from Cameron University.
