Fred and his wife, Betty, live in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. They met at Penn State in 1957. They have two children and five grandchildren. Fred was a navigator in the USAF for 20 years, retired as a Major, and then became a junior high/middle school teacher. He is now retired. Betty was a secretary/church administrator, and she is also retired. His hobbies are bird watching, boating, fishing, crabbing, and water skiing. Fred is a very active volunteer involved with Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity construction, and he helps with repair and maintenance at his church.

Fred is proud of and thankful for … “Being a born again Christian with a super family --- all good Christians.”

Fred’s message to his classmates is …

“I was very fortunate to meet my wife, Betty, while attending Penn State. I developed some bad habits at PSU, like partying, drinking, and smoking. This continued for a few years during my Air Force career. However, Betty stayed with me and we had two daughters, Sandy and Sharon. Both girls completed Bachelor’s degrees and Sandy got a Masters at the University of Manila, PI. Sandy taught elementary/middle school until she had her first child. Then she taught pre-school at our church while her third child attended. Now she is a full-time mom. Sharon is a computer programmer who worked for Civil Service until her daughter was a few years old. She also is a busy stay-at-home mom now. As of 1972, I have been completely free of drinking and smoking --- thanks to God’s grace and my family’s support. I taught middle school math and science for 16 years after completing 20 years in the Air Force. As a retiree, I really enjoy working on Habitat for Humanity houses and bird watching. Betty and I are also involved in many church related activities. We have traveled with a church group to see shows at Branson, MO, Pigeon Forge, TN, and other sightseeing trips. Last summer, we drove cross-country to Vancouver, BC to board a cruise ship to Alaska.”

“Retirement life is fun --- AIN’T GOD GOOD!!”

Fred served in the US Air Force (1959-1980). He has a BS in Business Administration from Penn State and a BA from the University of West Florida.
